Scraffito is an ancient technique in which a layer of pigment is scratched through to reveal a contrasting layer. When used in printmaking, the Scraffito plate can be printed digitally, such as Giclée, or via other printing techniques such as serigraphy or litho. These Scraffitos includes my latest 'sinister' series, as well as the Koi carp motif and a foursome on the theme of kitchen gardens. The latter were done as part of the Chiswick House Kitchen Garden Project, where artists were invited to contribute relevant work. |
